Hall Pass Self-Reflection

1. How did you choose to represent PJ and Media Arts in your design?

I represented PJ by showing the Pauline Johnson logo as well as including the school colours and images that represent media and visual arts.
2. Name two Principles of Graphic Design you used. Explain how you used these two Principles.

1. Alliance: All the words and images are aligned along the hall pass keeping the center of the page their common ground.

2. Contrast: The text is used in bold and regular type as well as small and large print making the hall passes an example of contrast.
3. What were you really good at for this project?
I was really good at finding images that represent the genre of the hall pass and applying them in appropriate places.

4. What could you improve on in this project?

I could improve my second hall pass by altering the placement of the text and spacing of the images and logo.

DSLR Line Portfolio

Leading Line
Leading Line #1
This is an example of leading line because the bars on the wall lead up to Gibby.

Leading Line #2
This is an example of leading line because the lights on the ceiling lead to the doors down the hall.

Leading Line #3
This is an example of leading line because the track line leads directly to Shaira and Maliah my subjects.

Leading Line #4
This is an example of leading line because all lines on the field point towards her.The girl in the centre is my subject. She is the focus of the photograph.

Leading Line #5
This is a good example of line because there is one lone line leading directly to the building. The building is clearly the subject because the line leads your eyes directly to that.

Dividing Line
Dividing Line #1
This is an example of dividing line because the bars of the bleachers divide up the photograph.

Dividing Line #2
This is an example of dividing line because the fence separates the photo.

Dividing Line #3

This is an example of dividing line because the squares in the net divide up the image.

Dividing Line #4

This is an example of dividing lines because the photo is divided by the lines of the cement blocks.

Dividing Line #5

This is an example of dividing line because the bricks in the wall divvy up the photograph.

Purpose of Photography

Purpose of Photography

Control: These two images show control because they are forms of photo identification for the government to have the ability to track and control peoples accessibility to certain affairs and to rights such as driving as well as health care.

Inform: The images below sourced from Pintrest and Quotes of IG  are examples of inform because they give information on a given subject which in this case are concerts. The creations show the band, time, price, date as well as other mandatory information needed to inform the viewer.

Advertise: These ads located from Old Navy & Taco Bellare for different categorized items yet still have the same intent, to convince you to purchase products from a certain brand. The advertisements supply the cost of the item(s) and the name/title of the store it is bought at somewhere in the image.

Educate: The photographs I've chosen to show are covers of two completely different books. One is a magazine that's sole purpose is to educate readers of different social and economical projects. The other is a textbook cover of a geometry book. Although they are different they are both sources of images that are used to educate viewers of facts and general knowledge.

Entertain: The examples below have only the purpose of entertaining viewers. Their message is nonexistent and are just used to provoke humor and interest from the viewer.
